In the NUDE and with lots of popcorn! :D However, in a musical, will argue that words must have a good meaning to them, otherwise it's just fluff - I'd be embarrassed to sing meaningless fluff, even if music was good. Equally, it would be a shame to waste good lyrics on a non-up-to-standard music. My Fair Lady was story-wise at first guided towards a female singer, hence titles like Liza, Lady Liza - a lady singer was supposed to have led it, which means it would have been more sing-along, as the other cast would have been singers also.
